Global Network Overview

Welcome to the Global Network for Digital Health Technology Integration— a pioneering international network dedicated to advancing the effective, equitable, and context-sensitive adoption of digital health technologies in care settings, especially care homes, worldwide.

Global Observatory

Serving as a global observatory, the Network facilitates cross-national learning, monitors emerging innovations, and shares valuable knowledge about digital health integration for aging well across diverse contexts.

Connecting Communities

The Network connects practitioners, researchers, technology developers, policymakers, residents, and caregivers to accelerate responsible, effective health technology integration in care homes globally. Join our open-access platform to co-design solutions, share evidence and resources, and foster a worldwide community dedicated to aging well.

Core Pillars

Connecting people, ideas, and tools to shape the future of digital health in care homes.

Co-design approaches
  • Form an interdisciplinary committee with representatives from health, technology, policy, and resident and caregivers to steer the global network initiatives.
  • Support and guide co-design approaches in health technology projects implementation in care homes.
Tool Development
  • Develop a dynamic online tool that helps LTC clinicians and researchers to identify evaluation approach that can suit their setting and population.
  • Design implementation readiness assessment tools for health technology integration in care homes.
  • Build a customizable toolkit for testing and evaluating integrations of new or existing technology in existing care home systems.
Global Communication Network
  • Establish a global community platform with quarterly webinars inviting experts to share their knowledge with the care community.
  • Facilitate connections with AGEWELL and other AgeTech networks to make research and resources more accessible.
Education & Training
  • Invite students and trainees to join the network and leverage the opportunities to learn and contribute to the work
  • Offer peer mentoring and support.
  • Create a trainee group to become future leaders in the space
Evidence synthesis, Knowledge & Theory building
  • Use evidence synthesis methods (rapid, scoping, systematic, and integrative reviews) to identify and address knowledge gaps in health technology integration within care settings, particularly care homes.
  • Develop an open-access web-based knowledge repository featuring case studies, frameworks, and evidence-based practices.

Dr. Jeffrey Jutai

Director

Jeffrey Jutai is Full Professor in the Interdisciplinary School of Health Sciences at the University of Ottawa

Professor Jutai is a psychologist and past editor-in-chief of the journal Assistive Technology and is a member of the AGE-WELL research network and past member of the Research Management Committee of AGE-WELL.

Dr. Atul Jaiswal

Dr. Atul Jaiswal

Co-Director

Dr. Atul Jaiswal is a Research Lead at Perley Health Centre of Excellence in Frailty Informed Care™.  He is an Adjunct Professor at the Interdisciplinary School of Health Sciences, University of Ottawa. Dr. Jaiswal is a trained occupational therapist as well as a rehabilitation social worker with a decade of work experience. He holds a PhD from the Faculty of Health Sciences at Queen’s University.
